The PaperArt is a biennial in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia , which takes place biennial of paper art.

The International Biennale of Paper Art PaperArt is a worldwide unique exhibition on the subject of paper , which has been held every two years in the Leopold Hoesch Museum since 1986 and there since the re-establishment of the Paper Museum in Düren in 1990. Here artists from different European and non-European countries present works of art that were created from paper or that contain paper. The first exhibition on paper took place in Düren - the city of paper - in 1981. The region's paper industry and artists from many countries took part in this. The topic was: paper. History - production - artistic design. For the first time in Europe, the two different directions of art with paper were shown. On the one hand, it was the art of machine-made paper or cardboard - as it was for the Bauhaus. As Josef Albers is known kinking, tearing, perforation, etc. Shown is the other new in the United States since about 1970 found kind of liquid, some colored paper stock ( Paperpulp to paint) images or to pour or form reliefs . The first established artist of such works of art is Robert Rauschenberg. He produced the first PaperArt works of art in Richard de Bas's paper mill in Ambert / France, together with the technician Kenneth Tyler (New York).

In the Leopold Hoesch Museum Düren, the museum director Dorothea Eimert established the paper art biennial - PaperArt - with the following themes:
