Particiaco

Particiaco is the name of a tribunician Venetian patrician family whose name has been changed to Partecipazio or Participazio over the centuries . Family members include a number of Venetian doges, as well as some Patriarchs of Grado .

The Participazio were among the most powerful and influential families in the early days of the Venetian Republic, which was marked by power struggles . Together with the Candiano and Orseolo , it was the Partecipazio family who provided most of Venice's doges from 810 to the constitutional reform of 1172.
