content

Parvaneh ( Persian پروانه, DMG Parwāne ) is the name of a young woman who immigrated to Switzerland from Afghanistan. In Switzerland she lives secluded in the mountains in a transit center for asylum seekers. Through a phone call with her mother, she learns that her father's health has deteriorated and that he urgently needs medication. She earns money by working illegally with tailoring for a farmer. She decides to go to Zurich to send her family the money she has earned. Once in the city it seems strange and hectic and Parvaneh is overwhelmed by the many new impressions at first. She cannot transfer the money via Western Union as planned because she has no valid papers. She speaks to several passers-by and tries to get help. Only Emily, a young woman from the Punkszenze , wants to help her, but demands a percentage participation. Since the ID has to be fetched from her home first, so much time has passed that the agency has already closed when they return. The two bridge the night with a party, to which Emily leads them. There Parvaneh drinks alcohol for the first time and is finally robbed by an intrusive admirer. The next film is about building the friendship between the two women and how they can transfer the money in the end.
