Pascal Egloff (born August 8, 1992 ) is a former Swiss ski jumper .

Career

Egloff made his international debut at the age of 14 at the FIS jumping competitions in Einsiedeln and Oberstdorf . From October 2006 he started in the FIS Cup and already reached eleventh place in the first competition in Einsiedeln. A year later he made it into the top ten on the same hill. In December 2007 he started in Engelberg for the first time in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , but did not reach the second round in both competitions. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Zakopane he reached 43rd place in individual jumping and tenth place with the team. In September 2008 he started jumping in the Alpine Cup, but in between he also completed two competitions in the Continental Cup, whereby, as in 2007 in Engelberg, he did not win any points. After good results in the Alpine Cup as well as in FIS jumping, he was accepted into the Continental Cup squad in December 2008, but continued to miss the second round and thus winning Continental Cup points. At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Štrbské Pleso he reached eleventh place with the team in the team competition and 28th place in the individual on the normal hill. Just one day after the team competition, he managed to win points for the first time with eighth place in the Continental Cup in Zakopane and, surprisingly, a place among the top ten. This is his best international result to date.

At the end of the 2008/09 season he was appointed to the national team and took part in the qualification for the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lahti , where he narrowly missed qualification as 51st. In the team competition, however, he was part of the squad and reached tenth place with the team. After the World Cup weekend, he returned to the Continental Cup team, where he consistently achieved midfield results. In August 2009 he started as a member of the team in the team jumping at the Summer Grand Prix and, like at the World Cup in March, reached tenth place. After a short interlude in the Alpine and FIS Cups in October 2009, he was nominated again for a World Cup competition. After he reached seventh place with the team in the team competition in Kuusamo , he also took part in the qualification for the individual competition the following day. With the 40th place he reached the qualification and came in the end of the jumping on the 35th place. With that he only just missed the second round and thus only just missed the World Cup points. For the Four Hills Tournament 2009/10 he was also part of the Swiss squad, but already missed the qualification in all individual competitions. At the 2010 Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten, he came in 27th individually and in tenth place with the team.

After 2010 was similar to 2009, he again took part in the 2011 Junior World Championship in Otepää , where he was able to achieve sixth place with the team. In the individual, he jumped to 23rd place and was able to improve slightly compared to 2010. Despite the fact that he achieved only mediocre results in the lower competition series after the Junior World Championship, he was nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo . After he surprisingly reached 30th place in the qualification for the normal hill, he was only able to secure 43rd place in jumping. In the team competition on the normal hill, he came in tenth place together with Andreas Küttel , Marco Grigoli and Simon Ammann . At the Swiss Championships in October 2011 in Einsiedeln , he finished third in the individual behind Simon Ammann and Gregor Deschwanden . With the team of the Eastern Switzerland Ski Association, he won the team competition for the second time after 2009.

At the Summer Grand Prix show jumping on August 17, 2013 in Engelberg , he was able to reach the second round for the first time in this series of competitions and finally collect his first two Grand Prix points with second place.

After the winter of 2014/15 Egloff ended his active ski jumping career.
