Patricia Marmont

Patricia Marmont (born August 9, 1921 in Long Island , New York ) is a British actress .

Life

Patricia Marmont came into contact with the film scene at an early age. Her father Percy Marmont was already active as an actor and participated as such in more than 80 productions. Marmont made her debut in 1946 on the side of her father in the drama Loyal Heart .

After minor supporting roles in films such as I Was a Male War Bride and The Beautiful Helena , she had the best-known appearance of her career as Sister Benson in Suddenly last summer alongside big screen stars like Elizabeth Taylor , Katharine Hepburn and Montgomery Clift in 1959 . In addition to her film career, Marmont also appeared as a stage actress, including twice on New York's Broadway .

After 1961 Marmont was seen exclusively as an actress in television series before she ended her acting career entirely in 1965. From then on Marmont worked as a talent agent and founded Marmont Management Ltd. their own business. In 2004, at the age of 83, she appeared in front of the camera one last time as the owner of an antique shop in the British comedy film Fakers .

Patricia Marmont was married to actor Nigel Green since 1952 . The marriage remained childless and was divorced.
