Patrick Bernhagen

Patrick Bernhagen (born October 1, 1970 in Wermelskirchen ) is a German political scientist. He has been Professor of Political Science with a focus on Comparative Political Science at the University of Stuttgart since 2014 .

Life and career

Patrick Bernhagen grew up in the Bergisches Land and Sauerland. He did his community service in Lüdenscheid. From 1992 to 1999 he studied political science, law and media studies at the University of Marburg and Trinity College Dublin . In 2005 he received his PhD from Trinity College Dublin. He has been a lecturer since 2004 and a senior lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen since 2010 . In 2012 he accepted an appointment at the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen . There he was Professor of Political Science until 2014 . Since 2014 he has been a full professor for political science with a focus on comparative political science at the University of Stuttgart . At the Institute for Social Sciences there, he heads the Political Systems and Political Sociology department.
