Patsy Guzzo
Patrick "Patsy" Guzzo (born October 14, 1917 in Ottawa , Ontario , † 1993 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.
Career
Patsy Guzzo began his career as a hockey player in 1933 with Ottawa Westboro. From 1935 to 1939 he was active for Ottawa LaSalle. He then spent three years with the Hull Volants. In the following years he played for numerous different teams in the amateur field. In the 1948 season he took part in the Winter Olympics with the RCAF Flyers. After the tournament, he stayed with the RCAF Flyers for another two years before retiring and running a sports shop in Ottawa.
International
For Canada , Guzzo took part in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz , where he and his team won the gold medal. In eight games he scored five goals and seven assists.
