Paul Dübi

Paul Wilhelm Dübi (born October 1, 1908 in Bern ; † May 26, 1989 ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Life

Dübi attended the literary department of the municipal high school in Bern . Then he studied law and economics at the University of Bern , and trained as an advocate . "Stays abroad in France and Italy" followed before he founded a "law firm in Bern". In 1935 he entered the federal service . From 1936 to 1940 he was “auditor and lawyer in the Swiss Federal Audit Office ”. From 1940 to 1945 he was a legal and economic clerk in the Department of Agriculture in the Federal Department of Economics, and in 1942 an adjunct in the Department of Agriculture. From 1946 to 1951 he was head of the Office for Agricultural Debt Relief in the Federal Department of Justice and Police. From 1947 to March 1952 he was president of the free-spirited democratic party of the city of Bern.

From 1948 to 1951 Dübi was a member of the Bern city council and a school commission. From 1951 he was president of the town music of the city of Bern.

From 1952 to 1967 Dübi was a councilor for the city of Bern; he was the school principal. In 1967 he was elected "Special Representative" in the service of the local council.

From 1954 to 1974 Dübi was the Grand Councilor of the Canton of Bern (constituency of Bern-Stadt) for the Free Democratic Party (FDP). 1957 to 1961 he was parliamentary group president of the FDP; 1962 to 1963 he was 2nd Vice GR; 1963 to 1964 he was 1st Vice GR; In 1964 he was elected President of the Grand Council for one year. He was also an adjunct in the federal justice department.

Paul Dübi was interested in literature and contributed to the magazine series Gute Schriften .
