Paul Demiéville (born December 26, 1855 in Châtillens , † March 16, 1947 in Lausanne , reformed , resident in Palézieux , Villarzel , Sédeilles and Rossens ) was a Swiss physician .

Life

Paul Demiéville was born on December 26, 1855 in Châtillens as the son of the civil servant Jean-Frédéric-Abram Demiéville and Thalie-born Pasche. After Paul Demiéville in Bern a study of the medicine had graduated, he settled in St. Gallen , London , Vienna and Munich continue their education.

Demiéville subsequently lived in Rolle from 1882 on , before finally settling in Lausanne in 1885. There he founded the university polyclinic in 1888. In addition, he worked from 1892 to 1927 as a professor in the medical and surgical polyclinic at the University of Lausanne . Demiéville was also represented in the Conseil de santé et des hospices.

Paul Demiéville, who was married to Annette, the daughter of the entrepreneur Henri Louis Manuel , died on March 16, 1947 at the age of 91 in Lausanne. He was the father of the eponymous sinologist Paul Demiéville .

Act

Paul Demiéville emerged as a pioneer in the fight against tuberculosis in the canton of Vaud and the author of several projects to promote Lausanne's health system .
