Paul Dietel

Paul Hermann Dietel (born February 15, 1860 in Greiz ; died October 30, 1947 in Zwickau ) was a German mycologist and teacher. His botanical-mycological author's abbreviation is " Dietel ".

Dietel studied mathematics and natural sciences in Göttingen and Berlin and then worked as a teacher at various schools in Greiz , Leipzig , Reichenbach in Vogtland and Zwickau until 1924 . Very early on, he became interested in rust fungi , on which he wrote his dissertation in Kassel in 1887 . He published numerous studies on the native rust fungus flora. His first mushroom herbarium was acquired by the Reichsmuseum in Stockholm, and the second was taken over by the herbarium Haußknecht in Weimar.
