In 2014 Krenz switched to bobsleigh and started in the European Bobsleigh Cup for the first time in December and finished third in the overall standings. In February 2015 he won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in the two-man bobsleigh in Altenberg as a pusher and Christoph Hafer as a pilot. With Richard Ölsner on the steering ropes, in 2016 he won the bronze medal in the two-man bobsleigh at the Junior World Championships in the two-man bobsleigh in Winterberg for the Mitteldeutscher Sportclub from Magdeburg . At the 2017 Junior World Championships in the four-man bobsleigh in Winterberg, he won the silver medal with pilot Christoph Hafer and in 2018 in St. Moritz with bobsleigh pilot Bennet Buchmüller the bronze medal. After Kevin Kuske ended his career, Nico Walther decided on the sprinting strong Krenz as a new pusher for his bobsleigh. He started in the World Cup for the first time in 2018/19. He won his first world cup race in the four-man bobsleigh at the very first start in Winterberg . Thanks to three additional podium places, he finished fourth in the four-man bobsleigh overall. In a pair, Walther and Krenz took third place in the overall ranking. As the strongest sprint athlete both on the side position (4.53 seconds at 35 meters) and on the brakes (5.57 seconds at 45 meters), he qualified for the World Championships in Whistler . On March 3, 2019, he won the bronze medal in the two-man bobsleigh with pilot Nico Walther.
