Paul R. Bartrop

Paul R. Bartrop (born November 3, 1955 ) is an Australian historian and author . He lives in Melbourne and works on the memory of the Holocaust and other genocides such as the Armenian genocide .

Life

He studied at La Trobe University in Melbourne in the early 1970s and completed his doctorate at Monash University in 1989 . Bartrop has taught at Monash University, Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education , RMIT University , Deakin University and the University of South Australia .

Since 1997 he has taught history, comparative studies on genocide, Jewish studies (including the Holocaust), religion and society at Bialik College in Melbourne, where he has also been the head of the history department since 2003. He was Professor of Holocaust Education at the Martin Springer Institute, Tolerance and Humanitarian Values ​​at Northern Arizona University, and Visiting Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University .

In addition to the publications listed below, he has published numerous scientific articles in journals and books, and has assisted editors in Australian and international journals.

Bartrop served as President of the Australian Association of Jewish Studies , he is an honorary member for life at the Jewish Museum of Australia and since 2008 "Friend of the Armenian Community".
