Paul Siedentopf

Paul Siedentopf (born September 3, 1870 in Hanover , † February 29, 1944 ibid) was a German author , publisher and director of the city surveying office (Stadtbauamt) in Hanover.

Life

After taking the Landmesser test in Prussia in 1895, Paul Siedentopf worked for the Royal Special Commission in Hanover for two years. On June 1, 1897, he joined the city of Hanover as a surveyor. After he had been given the management of the remeasurement in 1901, he was given a permanent position in 1902 and a year later he was appointed the municipal chief regional knife.

To the volume of Arnold Nöldeke's 1932 Die Kunstdenkmäler der Stadt [...] Hanover , Siedentopf contributed, among other things, " Photographs and plans ", the authorship of which Nöldeke attributed in part personally to Siedentopf in his book.

On September 30, 1935, he retired as surveying director after a total of 38 years in the service of the city administration.

In addition to numerous articles in various magazines and newspapers about the city history of Hanover, Siedentopf also wrote an article on the early history of Hanover city surveying in the journal for surveying (year 1900, issue 16).
