Pedro Cortina Mauri

Pedro Cortina Mauri (* 1908 in La Pobla de Segur , † February 14, 1993 in Madrid ) was a Spanish politician and Foreign Minister of Spain.

After completing diplomatic training, Cortina Mauri was the Spanish ambassador to France from 1966 to 1974 . Under Prime Minister Carlos Arias Navarro , Cortina Mauri became Spanish Foreign Minister on January 3, 1974 during the dictatorship of General Franco . He held this office until December 12, 1975. During his tenure he was confronted with the Western Sahara conflict and the negotiations in connection with the Moroccan Green March to Western Sahara .
