Pedro Estevan

Pedro Estevan (born December 9, 1951 in Sax / Alicante ) is a Spanish percussionist who has emerged as a specialist in percussion in the field of early music .

Act

Estevan studied percussion instruments at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and completed his training with Sylvio Gualda , the Senegalese master percussionist Doudou N'Diaye Rose and with Glen Velez . He performed with jazz bands and founded groups such as the Orquesta de las Nubes , Ranfonia and Pan-ku with Maria Villa and Suso Saiz, among others . Since 1968 he has been a member of Hespèrion XXI and Le Concert des Nations . He also teaches at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya .

Estevan has performed with ensembles such as the Orchestra of the 18th Century , Les Saqueboutiers de Toulouse , the Paul Winter Consort , the Camerata Iberia , the AnLeuT Ensemble , the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges , The Harp Consort , the Ensemble Kapsberger , Al Ayre Español , Orphénica Lyra and the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla , made radio and television recordings and participated in over one hundred CD productions, for example by Los Otros and Javier Paxariño .
