Percival Bailey

Percival Bailey (born May 9, 1892 in Mount Vernon / Illinois ; † August 10, 1973 in Evanston / Illinois ) was an American neurologist , surgeon and neurosurgeon and psychiatrist .

Bailey graduated from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University . He received his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1918. In 1919 he became an assistant to Harvey Williams Cushing at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. From 1926 to 1928 he worked at Harvard Medical School .

In 1929 he became a professor at the University of Chicago.

He led the temporal lobe in drug unsuccessful treatable among others 1,951 temporal one.

From 1953 to 1954 he was President of the US League Against Epilepsy (since 1971: US Epilepsy Society; American Epilepsy Society [AES]).
