The defender began his Bundesliga career in 1979 at SC Riessersee . In 1981 , in his second season as a Bundesliga professional, he was able to celebrate the German championship title. After three years in Bavaria, the Cologne EC won him for two seasons in 1982 . In 1984 he was also German champion here. He stayed with the ECD Iserlohn for a long time . After its bankruptcy, the Mannheim ERC signed him for the remainder of the 1987/88 season , but in the 1988/89 season he returned to the new Iserlohn club, the ECD Sauerland, in the 2nd Bundesliga. But during the season he moved back to Cologne. In his last Bundesliga year he played again in Bavaria, for EC Hedos Munich , before ending his professional career in 1993 after two years in the second-highest division at EHC Essen-West .

The following year, an Iserlohn club brought him again, this time the newly founded IEC , where he made his debut as a coach. As early as 1988 he worked as a player coach at the Seilersee. In 1997 he gave the IEC to Greg Poss and took over the Braunlager EHC / Harz , which at that time played in the second highest German division . Until 2000 he kept the club in this class. His last coaching position for the time being was his hometown club SC Riessersee. The activity there began in the current 2001/02 season in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga and ended at the end of the 2003/04 season. In the 2005/06 season he coached the DNL team at SC Riessersee.
