Peter Hackbusch (born August 23, 1958 in Plau am See ) is a former German soccer player in midfield . He played for 1. FC Union Berlin and BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Hackbusch played in his youth at BSG Progress Spremberg and then at BFC Dynamo . In 1977 he went to BSG EAB Lichtenberg 47 Berlin and stayed there until 1980 when he went to ASG Vorwärts Hagenow . In 1982 he returned to Lichtenberg for a year. From 1982 to 1986 Hackbusch played for the BSG Rotation Berlin before he made his breakthrough in 1986 at 1. FC Union Berlin, which played in the GDR league. On August 23, he made his professional debut when he was in the starting line-up in the 3-1 defeat against FC Carl Zeiss Jena on matchday two. He came to his second assignment on the 8th match day. In 1987 Hackbusch went back to BSG Rotation Berlin and played two games in the second-rate GDR league. In 1988 he was hired by BSG Energie Cottbus. There he was in the starting line-up from the beginning of the 1988/89 Oberliga season . He scored his first goal in the league on the penultimate matchday of the season. With his goal in the 87th minute of the game, Hackbusch Cottbus won against 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig . He also scored the following day. Despite high playing time, he went back to Union in 1989, which had just been relegated from the league. For Union he was used twelve times and scored a goal. In the following year, Hackbusch joined the league competitor BSG Kabelwerk Oberspree Berlin . There he made 29 appearances and five goals in three years. He then moved to several lower class clubs in Berlin before ending his career at SV Lichtenberg 47 in 1998 . He plays in the traditional team of 1. FC Union Berlin and in the old men team of Penkuner SV.
