Peter Lord (* 1953 in Bristol , England ) is a British director and producer and co-founder of the Oscar- winning Aardman Animation Studios.

Life

Together with his friend David Sproxton , Lord founded the film production company, initially just called Aardman , in a backyard building in Bristol in the mid-1970s . To the common dream to realize their own individual animation style, the two experimented with modeling clay and developed the Claymationtechnik ( clay English = kneading or modeling clay). Lord and Sproxton photographed the movement sequences using elaborate stop-motion technology. Nick Park joined the duo a little later . Park was the creator of Wallace and Gromit - short films . Lord, Sproxton and Park won several awards in 2000 for Chicken Run (their first full-length animated film) and in 2005 received the Academy Award for their full-length animated film Wallace & Gromit: On the hunt for the giant rabbit .
