Peter Rentzsch (born November 1, 1939 ) is a former German soccer player who was active in GDR soccer . For SC Dynamo Berlin and 1. FC Union Berlin he played briefly in the GDR Oberliga , the highest soccer league of the GDR Football Association .

Athletic career

Dynamo Sports Association

Rentzsch played at East Berlin TSC Oberschöneweide until he was 19 . In 1959 he moved to the top club of the GDR police sports association SC Dynamo Berlin, but was only used there in the reserve team. In 1960 he played briefly in the reserve team of SC Empor Rostock , but was also used on March 12, 1960 for a cup game in the first team. Rentzsch returned to SV Dynamo during the 1960 season and was deployed in their SG Dynamo Hohenschönhausen branch , where he played in the second-rate GDR league until 1963 . For the 1963/64 season he was again taken over by SC Dynamo Berlin. There he had an assignment in the league team immediately on the first matchday. In the game SC Dynamo - Motor Steinach on August 11, 1963, he played as a left runner . Then he was used again only in the reserve team. For the 1964/65 season he was again transferred to SG Dynamo Hohenschönhausen.

1. FC Union

In the summer of 1965 Rentzsch resigned from the police service and thus also from SV Dynamo and joined the GDR league club TSC Berlin, whose football section became 1. FC Union Berlin in early 1966. In the first league game of the newly founded club Rentzsch was in the starting eleven, but injured himself and was not used for the rest of the season. At the end of the season Union rose to the league, and Rentzsch came on May 10, 1967 for the club in the 1966/67 season still to a use as a midfielder in the top division. After injury problems, he had to give up his career as a football player in the performance area.

Trainer in the lower class area

Rentzsch joined the fourth-class BSG Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe in 1967 , which he led as a player-coach in the East Berlin district league in his first season . After he left in 1972, he then became the trainer of the BSG Sparta Lichtenberg . In 1983, BSG Autotrans Berlin also made the leap into the district league under his leadership.
