Petko Slavicov
Petko Ratschow Slawejkow ( Bulgarian Петко Рачов Славейков , scientific transliteration Petko Račov Slavejkov; born November 17, 1827 in Tarnowo , then Ottoman Empire , † July 13, 1895 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) was a Bulgarian writer , politician of the Liberal Party and one of the activists the Bulgarian National Revival .
Life
He was born the son of a boiler maker. From 1864 to 1874 he lived in Constantinople . He published several newspapers, such as the Gaida newspaper from 1863 to 1867 and the Makedonija newspaper from 1866 to 1872 . He publishes the first Bulgarian children's magazine and the country's first women's magazine. His poems and poems are considered a pinnacle of modern Bulgarian literature.
Petko Slawejkow was chairman of parliament between April 7, 1880 and December 10, 1880, minister of education between December 10, 1880 and December 29, 1880, between December 29, 1880 and May 9, 1881 and between July 11, 1884 and February 12, 1885 Minister of the Interior of the Principality of Bulgaria .
Petko Slawejkow had a total of eight children, including the later politicians Iwan Slawejkow and Christo Slawejkow , the publicist Ratscho Slawejkow and the poet Pecho Slawejkow . Slaveykov Peak , a mountain on Smith Island in Antarctica , has been named after him since 2006 .
