The Pfalzbahn had a total of two series of this locomotive built by the Krauss company. In 1898 she received twelve and in 1899 15 copies of this type, which were stationed in Neustadt , among other places . A total of 15 of these machines were redesignated by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the class 55 72 with the numbers 55 7201–7215 and operated until the end of the 1920s. The remaining copies went to the First World War to the railways of the Saar .

The locomotives were equipped with type 3 T 12 tenders .
