The T 3 of the Pfalzbahn were freight train tender locomotives without running axles with three coupling axles of the class C n2t . They were classified as class 89 1 with the road numbers 89 101–121 at the Deutsche Reichsbahn . Their construction was based on that of the Bavarian DV .
history
Compared to other railway companies, the Palatinate Railways only procured C couplers for service on branch lines and shunting from 1889 to 1905. In Bavaria the type CV locomotives had already been in operation for 10 years.
procurement
Over a total of 16 years, Maffei procured a total of 27 machines, four construction lots. The first four machines - procured in 1889/1990 - were bought as replacements for machines that had been decommissioned and were given their numbers. The next procurement series from 1898 for seven machines and the construction lot from 1900 for eleven machines received new, consecutive numbers. In the construction lot of 1902 for a further four locomotives, there was also a second occupation of existing numbers. In 1905 another machine with a new, consecutive number was delivered.
All machines received -. as usual with the Palatinate Railways - additional names.
Whereabouts
21 machines were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn , which included them in its numbering plan in 1925 as the 89.1 class . In 1920 six locomotives - numbers 207, 208, 246, 252, 255 and 285 - had to be handed over to the railways of the Saar area.
In a list of the locomotives in the French occupation zone from 1948, eight machines are counted for the EAW Kaiserslautern. The last copy was taken out of service by the Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1953 .
