Phil Shulman

Phil Shulman (born August 27, 1937 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a musician. He was alongside his brothers Derek and Ray between 1966 and 1970 in the psychedelic rock band Simon Dupree and the Big Sound and between 1970 and 1972 a member of the progressive rock band Gentle Giant . Like his brothers, Shulman is a multi-instrumentalist. In addition to singing , he played the saxophone , trumpet , clarinet , recorder and drums .

Phil Shulman is the oldest of the Shulman brothers and, together with the other members of Gentle Giant, produced the first four albums Gentle Giant , Acquiring the Taste , Three Friends and Octopus . Phil Shulman was one of the main composers for the band.

Phil Shulman later ran a gift shop with his wife on Stoke Road in Gosport . He lives in Hardway today.
