Philip Salyer (born October 30, 1981 in Oklahoma City ) is a retired American football player .

Career

society

Salyer played for the University of Maryland soccer team in 2000 and 2001 . Because of his good performances, Werder Bremen lured him to Germany in January 2002 . He was supposed to find his way into the professional squad via the reserve team. However, Salyer did not make the breakthrough. After a year on the Weser, he decided to return to America. In the 2003 MLS Supplemental Draft, a selection process for the screening of players for the US professional soccer league, FC Dallas secured the services of the defensive all-rounder on April 10, 2003. After he came only a few missions in his first season for the Burns , he was able to prevail in the following year after the departures of Tenywa Bonseu , Ryan Suarez and Shavar Thomas . On the right back, he had to compete with Carey Talley . After being weighed by Dallas in mid-2005, he did not join any other professional clubs.

National team

Salyer was a junior international of the USA. With her he took part in the 2001 World Junior Cup in Argentina . The team reached the quarter-finals, but were eliminated against Egypt. Salyer was used in a preliminary round match as well as in the quarterfinal match. In the same year the defensive player took part in the Toulon tournament.
