The Philosopher Constantine University (Slovak Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa v Nitre ; UKF) is a public university in Nitra , Slovakia .

The University of Constantine goes back to the Pedagogic Institute ( Pedagogický Inštitút ) founded in 1959 . In 1996 it was given its current name in memory of the medieval scholar Konstantin Kostenezki .

In Germany, the university is known for the Chair for German Studies , which was founded in 1992 and works closely with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
