Physalis aggregata is a plant type from the genus of jujubes ( Physalis ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Physalis aggregata is an herbaceous plant whose hair consists of a dense layer of short, often glandular trichomes , between which several longer trichomes 0.5 to 1.5 mm in length are scattered. The leaves have petioles 2 to 4.5 cm long , the leaf blade is lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, with entire margins to a few teeth. The teeth are 6 to 10 mm long and 3 to 5.5 mm wide.

The flowers are in groups of three to seven in the armpits, only the first flowers that are formed are single. The flower stalks are 4 to 6 mm long. The calyx is 5 to 7 mm long and just as wide at the flower. It is covered with egg-shaped calyx lobes that are 3 to 3.5 mm long. The crown is 9 to 10 mm long and 13 to 15 mm in diameter. The anthers are golden yellow to purple-golden yellow in color, 2.5 to 3 mm long and stand on 3 to 4 mm long stamens .

The fruit is a 10 to 11 mm diameter berry that almost fills the enlarging calyx. This is 15 to 20 mm long and 12 to 13 mm wide on the fruit.

The species is common in the Mexican state of Oaxaca .

Systematics

Within the genus of the bladder cherries ( Physalis ), the species is classified in the Coztomatae section of the subgenus Rydbergis .
