Physalis angustior is a plant type from the genus of jujubes ( Physalis ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Physalis angustior is a shrub or shrub reached, the stature heights of 1 to 2 m. The hair consists of dense, articulated and partly glandular trichomes . The leaves are egg-shaped and pointed towards the front with a crescent shape. The larger leaves are 6 to 10 cm long and 4 to 8 cm wide, the petioles are 3 to 5 mm long.

The flowers are singly or in groups of two to three. The flower stalks are 12 to 20 mm long. The calyx lobes are lanceolate and pointed and 5 to 9 mm long. The crown is colored yellow and has markings. It is 15 to 20 mm long and measures 20 to 29 mm in diameter. The anthers are purple in color and 3 to 4 mm long.

When the fruit ripens, the calyx enlarges to 25 to 30 mm in length and 15 to 20 mm in width, the stem extends to 15 to 30 mm. A berry 14 to 16 mm long and 12 to 15 mm wide forms in the inflated calyx .

Occurrence

The species is common in Mexico .

Systematics

Within the genus of the bladder cherries ( Physalis ), the species is classified in the Coztomatae section of the subgenus Rydbergis .
