Pierrefitte-sur-Seine is a French commune with 30,306 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Seine-Saint-Denis in the region of Ile-de-France , a few kilometers north of Paris . The headquarters of the French National Archives are located in the city . Its inhabitants are called Pierrefittois .

Pierrefitte-sur-Seine is located immediately north of Saint-Denis and about ten kilometers from Paris city center. Contrary to what the suffix -sur-Seine suggests, Pierrefitte is about two kilometers from the banks of the Seine . The municipal area of 3.41 km² is almost completely built over. The population density is correspondingly high with over 8,000 inhabitants per km². Neighboring municipalities are Saint-Denis, Stains and Villetaneuse in the Seine-Saint-Denis department and Sarcelles and Montmagny in the Val-d'Oise department .
