Pilosocereus arrabidae is a species of plant in the genus Pilosocereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Pilosocereus arrabidae grows shrubby, is usually stemless, branched near the base and reaches heights of 1 to 4 meters. The straight, yellowish-green to dark-green shoots , slightly curved upwards, have a diameter of 4.5 to 9.5 centimeters and are only slightly woody. There are 5 to 8 ribs with crooked transverse furrows. The areoles , from which hairs can arise, stand on distinct humps. The initially translucent thorns turn brown to grayish. Of the mostly 2 to 4 central spines, one is often ascending and two protruding. They are 1.5 to 4 inches long. The 7 to 10 radial spines are 2 to 20 millimeters long. Part of the shoots capable of flowering is not pronounced.

The funnel-shaped flowers appear along the length of the shoot. They are 6 to 7 centimeters long and 4 to 5 centimeters in diameter. The depressed spherical fruits tear open laterally, are 3 to 5 centimeters long and contain a magenta colored pulp.
