Pinningen (until 2007 Neualtheim ) is a district of Blieskastel in the Saarpfalz district ( Saarland ). Until the end of 1973 Neualtheim was an independent municipality in the Homburg district .

geography

Pinningen is located between Altheim and Seyweiler , around 8 km southeast of Blieskastel in a hilly landscape on the Pinninger Berg at 295  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Pinningen is the youngest town in the Bliesgau . In 1478 the Pinninger Hof was named as a property of the Hornbach Monastery . The district belonged to Zweibrücken-Bitsch and, as a successor, to Lorraine . In 1699, residents of Seyweiler moved to this place and founded the place that was initially called Pinningen . It was not until 1726 that the name was officially changed to Neualtheim , but that did not change the fact that the name Pinningen was always in dialect in Bliesgau . In 1781 Neualtheim came to the von der Leyen house . From then on it shared the fortunes of Blieskastel.

As part of the Saarland regional and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality of Neualtheim was assigned to the city of Blieskastel as a district on January 1, 1974 .

In August 2006, the local advisory board operated a renaming in the old place name Pinningen , which was supported by the majority of residents as well as by the city of Blieskastel. On July 1, 2007, Neualtheim was officially renamed Pinningen again.
