Plan in architecture

A plan is a compilation of architectural drawings or technical drawings that explain a project or a detail as comprehensively as possible - for example for machine or building parts, technical installations, lines or the representation of individual rooms. Typical scales for this are 1:10 (for small elements) to 1:50 for building parts. On the other hand, an overview plan , such as the construction plan of an entire building, has a smaller scale, around 1: 100.

Cartographic plans , on the other hand, are even smaller-scale plans - for example, terrain , city or development plans .

Colloquially, the word plan is also used synonymously for the term floor plan . A representation that is not to scale is called a sketch - e.g. B. the freehand representation of a machine or component or the rough sketch of the position ( point description ) of a measurement point.

Plans consist of a sheet of paper, often in larger DIN formats . A set of plans is often arranged in a consistent layout . Further components are a flag , which is a label that contains all the essential project information, and a frame. Today, plans are usually created on the computer and then printed out or sent digitally. See for the standardized interpretation of technical drawings Article interpretation of drawings .

In principle, a plan is a binding execution instruction for the person entrusted with the execution (usually a craftsman , e.g. lathe operator, foreman, switch cabinet builder, ...).

As a printed copy, a plan is a document that (like any other document) can be drawn (signed, certified). A plan on both sides (signed by the executing and inspecting party, with the date and place of signature) with the note "measurement" applies, for example. B. as a correct measurement - even without a detailed list of the components shown in the plan (components, obstacles, etc.) - even if components result from the representation (results from the compulsory two-dimensional plan representation for technical reasons and the general principle of trust according to ABGB).
