The Plastic Bomb is a German magazine for punk rock , hardcore and alternative . The booklet also contains reviews of comics , books and films . The Plastic Bomb is available as an e-zine in addition to the print edition, which has been published since January 1, 1993 . Up to issue 103 each print edition was accompanied by a CD. It appears quarterly, with a printed circulation of 8,000 copies, also in regular magazine stores. The Plastic Bomb is published by Plastic Bomb GmbH, based in Duisburg.

The Plastic Bomb started as a fanzine , but is now professionally produced and sold, including to around 2,500 subscribers. After Ox, it was the second punk magazine in Germany to appear with a CD insert. The Plastic Bomb is in the whole German-speaking area z. B. available at train station kiosks, airports or smaller shops.

The magazine advocates a left-wing political and anti - fascist punk scene, which is reflected in many articles.

An integral part of the Plastic Bomb are the forewords of the various editors who publish very subjective and intimate texts there. T. are kept in column style.

Label

An independent label has developed parallel to the magazine. Since it was relatively difficult for punk bands to get a record deal in the early 1990s , the makers of the Plastic Bomb Fanzine came up with the idea of ​​producing bands that you yourself like. In the period that followed, CDs by groups such as Vageenas , No Respect , Rasta Knast or Trend were released on the Plastic Bomb label. In addition, publications by z. B. DOA , Real McKenzies , Deadline or Forgotten licensed for Germany on the sub-label Social Bomb.

Until 2007, Farewell Records was also part of Plastic Bomb . Among other things, the last album of the band Poison Idea , Latest Will and Testament, was released there . Farewell is now run independently.
