Poul-Erik Thygesen (born July 17, 1950 in Gentofte ) is a former Danish football player .

Career

Thygesen joined Werder Bremen in 1973 from the Danish club B 1903 Copenhagen . At the Weser he signed a contract from December. He made his debut in the Bundesliga on the 18th matchday of the 1973/74 season , when he came on for Bernd Brexendorf in the 65th minute of the game at the home game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . 15 minutes later he took the 2-0 lead (final score 3: 1). A week later, Werder was visiting VfB Stuttgart , he was substituted on in the 66th minute of the game, and ten minutes later he equalized to make the final score 2-2 . After two goals in his first two games, he was rewarded by coach Sepp Piontek on the 20th and 22nd matchday with the formation in the starting XI. In the rest of the season he played regularly as a supplementary player. In the season he came on 13 missions with four hits. In the next season 1974/75 Thygesen completed another seven Bundesliga games.

At the end of October 1975 he moved to Switzerland for FC Winterthur , where he was signed to replace the Irishman John Conway and played for two seasons. During his time in Winterthur, he was the most dangerous striker of the Eulachstädter with 11 goals per season and was ranked fourth on the list of goalscorers in the 1975/76 season. However, even his goals could not prevent the Eulachstädter's relegation in the summer of 1977 and Thygesen returned to Denmark.

Back in Denmark he played one season for Glostrup IC and at the end of his career again with B 1903 Copenhagen.
