The powiat Nowomiejski is a powiat (district) in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship with its seat in Nowe Miasto Lubawskie ( Neumark in West Prussia ). The powiat has an area of ​​695 km², on which about 43,900 inhabitants live.

history

The powiat Nowomiejski belonged to the Pomeranian Voivodeship from 1920 to 1939 , then to the Bromberg Voivodeship after the Second World War and came to the then Olsztyn Voivodeship as part of a regional reform in 1950 .
