Prospero Nale Arellano

Prospero Nale Arellano (born January 17, 1937 in Bombon ; † February 1, 2014 ibid) was Bishop-Prelate of Libmanan .

Life

Prospero Arellano studied philosophy and theology at the Holy Rosary Major Seminary in Naga and was ordained a priest on March 30, 1963 . He completed postgraduate studies in Guidance and Counseling at Colegio de Sta Isabel in Naga (1963), in Social Action and Cooperative Management in Hong Kong (1964), in higher mathematics at Aquinas University (1974), Pastoral Management in Tagaytay City (1978) and studies at the Institute of Spirituality at the French Institute Notre Dame de Vie (1981–1982). He taught at the seminary (1968–1974; 1982–1988) and was rector of the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary (1974–1980) and pastor of Pili (1985–1989) and Iriga City (1980–1981).

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of the Libmanan Territorial Prelature on December 9, 1989 . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines , Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19, 1990 ; Co- consecrators were Concordio Maria Sarte , Bishop of Legazpi , and Benjamin J. Almoneda , Auxiliary Bishop in Daet .

His resignation for health reasons was on May 19, 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI. granted.
