Psychro

Psychro ( Greek Ψυχρό [ psixˈrɔ ] ( n. Sg. )) Is a small town on Crete , 48 km east of Heraklion and 52 km west of Agios Nikolaos . It lies on the southern edge of the Lasithi plateau .

The place is known for the Diktean Grotto ( Dikteon Andron , often also called Dikti Grotto), in which Zeus is said to be born, which is located a little above the place. Finds prove a cultic use in Minoan times.
