Item 12 is the lunchtime journal on RTL . The show is from Monday to Friday from 12:00 live from Cologne transferred.

history

The broadcast started on April 6, 1992 under the title 12.30 at the appropriate time and changed the name with the move to 12:00 on June 1, 1992. The program was broadcast until February 26, 1999 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. From March 1, 1999, the broadcast time was extended by half an hour. In 2007, Punkt 12 celebrated its 15th anniversary and ran for two hours from August 1st to 3rd, 2007. Due to a positive response, the airtime of item 12 has been two hours since October 15, 2007. On the Thursday of the first week in which the midday journal was broadcast for two hours, point 12 achieved a market share of 28.5 percent.

In December 2013 an offshoot was broadcast on Sunday.live, but it was discontinued after only 4 issues.

Because a bomb was found, the RTL station in Cologne was evacuated on January 21, 2020. Katja Burkard flew with her team to the Berlin RTL capital studio and moderated live from there.

procedure

The program is made up of four blocks: The first is current reports and news ( news ); in the second (from 12:40 p.m.) reports on celebrities ( VIP news ); the third, who until April 2014 Better Living was called (the Better Living News there is still) is about Counselor and health issues and in the fourth block, there is a special story, a human fate, or a test. The last post in particular usually brings a special topic in order to keep viewers in the show. The end is the point 12 quiz , since the middle of 2018 on Friday also the weekly review with four moving articles under the headings Our week to be annoyed , Our week to be amazed , Our week to cry and Our week to fall in love or similar, published by the Moderator with whom an off-speaker is speaking , can be commented on.

Contest

At the end of point 12 there is the competition. It consists of two parts, the first of which is a question that is often asked with two possible answers before the commercial breaks in the program. If the question is answered correctly, the player receives 1,000 euros. A second question was then asked until the beginning of 2016. In this one could play for the jackpot, in which there are at least 20,000 euros. After asking the question, the candidate was able to decide within five seconds whether to play with or without possible answers. If he played with no answer options, he was playing for the jackpot and had to say the correct answer within five seconds; if the candidate had the option to answer, he gambled for another 1,000 euros. If he answered the question incorrectly, the jackpot was increased by 2,000 euros. If the jackpot was "cracked", it consisted again of the basic amount of 20,000 euros in the following broadcast. Since the beginning of 2016 there has been a game of chance instead of the second question : The caller chooses a sequence of five pictures with seasonal motifs from 5 5 possibilities, as does a computer. The motifs can appear multiple times. If there is a match, the candidate receives 1,000 euros more up to the jackpot with five matches. The minimum age for participating in the competition is 14 years. Participation in the "Punkt 12 quiz" is possible by phone, SMS and Internet (via the official winario competition portal). EUR 0.50 is due for each competition participation.

The background music is " Chicane - Sunstroke".
