Quasnitz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quasnitz has been a district of Leipzig since 1999 . It has its own boundary and belongs to the district of Lützschena-Stahmeln in the north-west district.

history

Until 1815, Quasnitz belonged to the Schkeuditz Office of Merseburg , which had been under Electoral Saxon sovereignty since 1561 and belonged to the secondary school principality of Saxony-Merseburg between 1656/57 and 1738 . Through the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the western part of the Schkeuditz office was ceded to Prussia in 1815. Quasnitz remained with the eastern part of the Kingdom of Saxony and was incorporated into the Leipzig district office. From 1856 the place belonged to the court office Leipzig II and from 1875 to the administrative authority Leipzig .

The former community northwest of Leipzig merged with the neighboring village of Hänichen in 1922 . In 1929 Quasnitz-Hänichen was incorporated into Lützschena. In 1994 this merged with the neighboring municipality of Stahmeln to form the municipality of Lützschena-Stahmeln, which came to Leipzig in 1999 as a result of the Leipzig City-Surrounding Area Act .
