Quintus Tullius Cicero
Quintus Tullius Cicero (* probably 102 BC ; † 43 BC ) was a Roman politician and the younger brother of Marcus Tullius Cicero .
He held various offices in the Roman Republic . 62 BC He was praetor and as such removed the last remnants of the Catilinarian conspiracy .
From 61 BC BC to 58 BC Quintus Cicero became governor of the province of Asia with the rank of propraetor . 57/56 BC He served as a legacy under Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus in Sardinia . 54 to 51 BC He was the legate of Gaius Julius Caesar in Gaul , 51/50 BC. He served as a legacy to his brother in Cilicia . Caesar pardoned him after he had initially stood on Pompey's side in the civil war .
Like his brother, Quintus was born in 43 BC. Together with his son proscribed and killed.
He (probably) wrote the Commentariolum petitionis (“little memorandum on application for office”), supposedly advice for his brother when applying to the consulate . He also wrote dramas, but other literary works have not survived.
Quintus owned a house on the Carinae in Rome . Around 54 BC He or his brother had the temple of Tellus restored there. He was married to Pomponia, sister of Titus Pomponius Atticus , his brother's best friend, but in whose opinion the marriage did not seem very happy. 44 BC The marriage was divorced.
