The Quohrener Kipse is an elevation not far from Dresden in the Erzgebirge foreland in Saxony .
Location and surroundings
The Quohrener Kipse rises three kilometers west of Kreischa and five kilometers northeast of Dippoldiswalde in the lower Eastern Ore Mountains . The Quohren district of Kreischa is located directly at the foot of the mountain . On the western shoulder is Karsdorf and the federal road 170 with the branch to Hermsdorf am Wilisch .
Several small watercourses flow from its northern flank to the village stream in Qohren. The kipse is covered with forest in places, other areas are agricultural areas.
geology
The Quohrener Kipse is located immediately north of the Karsdorfer Fault and thus belongs to a prominent mountain range to which the Wilisch to the east and the Lerchenberg to the west belong.
The Quohrener Kipse is mainly of gneiss - conglomerates from the Permian of Döhlener basin formed. At the foot of the mountain towards the Dippoldiswalder Heide , the biotite gneisses typical of the Ore Mountains can be found in a narrow strip of terrain.
Paths to the summit
- A green marked hiking route runs over the mountain, which leads from the direction of Karsdorf on to Hermsdorf and Wilisch.
- The nearby community of Kreischa is also a good starting point for visiting the mountain .

From the Quohrener Kipse, distant views are possible in all directions. The views towards the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the Lusatian Mountains should be emphasized .
