Río Ceballos is a city in central Argentina , located in the northwest of the metropolitan area of the city of Córdoba in the province of the same name . It has 22,432 inhabitants (2010, INDEC ).

Due to its idyllic location in a green, wooded valley, Río Ceballos was one of the first tourist centers in the province of Cordoba in the mid-20th century, but then lost its importance compared to the places in the Valle de Punilla . Since the 1980s, Río Ceballos has been transforming itself more and more into a residential suburb of the city of Córdoba, which is 21 kilometers away and is connected to the city by a four-lane expressway. The population growth is very high today, new residential areas are constantly being developed, so that little is left of the former small town atmosphere. Unlike in La Calera , for example , the new residents of Río Ceballos come mainly from the upper classes of society.

tourism

The biggest tourist attraction is the La Quebrada reservoir , which is four kilometers west of the city center at an altitude of 900 meters. There are also several waterfalls and gorges in the area. There are several hotels and campsites in the city, as well as restaurants, nightclubs and a casino.
