Rüdiger May (born September 16, 1949 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German political scientist , PR consultant and author . From 1979 to 1989 he was the main department head in the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus .

Life

May studied political science , sociology and economic policy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1975 he was with Hans-Helmuth Knütter at the Bonn seminar for political science with the dissertation The young workforce of the social committees. An example of the investigation of the CDU using the example of a fringe group for Dr. phil. PhD .

He became a member of the CDU in 1968 and was assistant to the CDU Bundestag member Ferdinand Breidbach from 1969 to 1976 . From 1976 to 1979 he was the representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's international office in Quito , Ecuador . In 1979 he was poached to Germany by the CDU General Secretary Heiner Geißler . From 1979 to 1989 May was head of the organization department at the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus in Bonn. In 1989 he made his superior Geissler aware of financial irregularities in the CDU headquarters, whereupon his contract was terminated by his successor, Volker Rühe, as head of administration. In 2000 he incriminated former Chancellor Helmut Kohl (CDU) before the investigative committee of the German Bundestag into the CDU donation affair. Kohl said about May as follows: "one of the main agents for Geissler", who tried to "help prepare my fall" in the Bonn media landscape.

After working for KAS, he worked until 1993 as director of industrial policy at the tobacco company Philip Morris in Munich and Brussels. In 1993 he founded the PR company European Public Advertisers . In 2007 he became a managing partner of the Berlinpolis lobbyist group , but left in 2008 due to differences of opinion.

May, who last lived in Tehran in Iran, published several books in the field of travel literature .
