RUN (magazine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RUN was a computer magazine published from June 1984 to January 1988.

The Commodore computer magazine, named after the BASIC command for a program start and according to its own statements , was published monthly. The first edition cost 4.50 D-Marks (today, inflation-adjusted € 4.18). One month after the hiring, the same editorial team published the computer magazine "Amiga-Welt". Both magazines were published by CW-Verlag Verlag , a subsidiary of IDG Verlag .

The RUN contained information on hardware and software (including games), entertainment, tips and tricks, programming courses and program listings for various Commodore computer systems such as C16 , VC20 , C116 , C128 , Plus / 4 or the Amiga , with the Commodore 64 as the main focus depicted. To make it easier to type in the program listings , there was a “Super Corrector” for BASIC listings (for the home computers mentioned here ) and the “Checker for machine programs” from 1985 .

From 1984 to December 1992 there was also an independent English-language RUN, which was published by CWC Publication and later by IDG Communicators in North America and Great Britain. It was initially published monthly and for the last two years every two months.
