Raúl Osvaldo Castronovo Zanón (born January 11, 1949 in Rosario ) is a former Argentine football player . He began his sporting career at the age of 19 with Rosario Central in his hometown and after two years moved to the top Uruguayan club Club Atlético Peñarol . Although he was in the service of the black and yellow with ten goals immediately top scorer of the Copa Libertadores 1971 (together with Luis Artime from Club Nacional de Football ), he left the club after only one season for Europe and was signed by AS Nancy . There Castronovo experienced the most successful period of his career until 1974, before he played for four Spanish teams for six more years.
