Rachel Chagall
Rachel Chagall , actually Rachel Levin , (born November 24, 1952 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American actress .
Life
Rachel Chagall grew up on Long Island . At the age of 17, she returned to the Goddard College in New York to learn the ABCs of acting. At the age of 20 she played in the plays Hedda Gabler and Romeo and Juliet . She also appeared in many off- Broadway plays.
In 1987, she starred in the film Gaby: A True Story , for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Drama .
She achieved great fame in the role of Val Toriello in the US sitcom The Nanny alongside Fran Drescher .
Rachel Chagall lives with her husband and their twins (Eve and Jonah, * 1999) in Los Angeles . The twins of Nanny Fine in the final season of the series of the same name got the same names.
Rachel's real name is Rachel Levin. But since there was already an actress with the same name, she changed her last name. The choice fell on Chagall - the artist Marc Chagall was her grandmother's cousin.
In 1982 she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome .
