program

12 hours of programming are produced daily in the Radio MK studios in Iserlohn (Mon – Fri 6 am–10 am “Am Morgen”, Mon – Fri 10 am–12 pm “Am Morning”, 12 pm – 2 pm “Am Noon” and from 2 pm to 2 pm –6pm “In the afternoon”, different broadcast times on weekends); also special programs such as “Arena Live”, “Jobzeit”, “Helpful”, “Chartbeat” and “Kreuz und Quer”.

In the late evening and night, Radio MK takes over the supporting program from Radio NRW . Local news with world headlines for the district and the region is available every hour on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The local news on Saturdays also comes every hour from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (sports news).

Radio MK has been broadcasting from the newly built studios in the Funkhaus in der Harmonie in Iserlohn's city center since 2015 . Until May 2015, Radio MK broadcast from the Funkhaus an der Isenburg in Vinckestrasse. Before that, until 1995, from the Funkhaus am Nolten in the Scheibler Palace, built in 1783 .

The program also includes the community radio . The law stipulates - measured against the daily broadcast time - one hour per day (Monday to Saturday from 9:00 p.m., Sundays from 7:00 p.m.). The programs are not created and produced by the Radio MK editorial team, but by various radio associations such as the local radio association Iserlohn (FöLok) , Studio MK or the Bürgerradio Süderland .

Companies

One of the employees: Mirko Heintz

Radio MK is 75% owned by the Munich publisher Dirk Ippen , the rest is owned by the city of Iserlohn and the Märkische Kreis .

In the Märkischer Kreis, Radio MK is the market leader ahead of the WDR programs . 37.1% (all persons over 14 years of age in the broadcasting area) tune into the program daily (Mon-Fri).

Radio MK acts as a sponsor and media partner at the local DEL club Iserlohn Roosters . All away games in the league are broadcast on the special "Arena live". The broadcaster also sponsors some other events and facilities in the district. Every year on Unity Day, the station organizes the “Radio MK Run”, which in 2017 took place for the 15th time. The station also organizes the “Radio MK Come Together Festival” with many well-known stars in Floriansdorf Iserlohn every year . The festival first took place on August 18, 2007.

Competitors who play a similar color of music and can be received via the normal antenna are particularly Eins Live and WDR 2 in the distribution area . In the southern district, in which Radio MK has dead spots, the public broadcasters SWR3 and hr3 , as well as the large advertising-financed private broadcasters RPR1 and bigFM from Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as some Hit Radio FFH from Hesse and RTL Radio from Luxembourg can also use the Antenna. Listeners can choose the station with the best music from the diverse range.
