Raymond of Toledo

Raimund von Toledo was Bishop of Osma and then Archbishop of Toledo from 1125/26 to 1152/51 .

He took care of the cultivation of the Tajo region through irrigation systems and promoted scholars who translated the works of Arab philosophers and natural scientists into Latin. It has not been clearly established whether he established the Toledo School of Translators .
