Raphael doubt

Raphael Zweifel (born July 2, 1970 in Zurich ) is a Swiss cellist . He plays under his stage name LoZee as a soloist or as a guest in various pop and rock formations.

Musical career

Raphael Zweifel began to play the cello at the age of eight and received an early musical education in music school . He was trained as a primary school teacher at the teachers' seminar in Switzerland. He also played in the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra from 1989 to 1994 . Doubt studied cello at the Frankfurt University of Music from 1992 to 1997 and then played works by Antonín Dvořák and Joseph Haydn as a soloist .

In the summer of 1997 he moved to Barcelona. There he began to experiment with free jazz , flamenco and Arabic music in various music groups . Doubt, who now lives in Paris, has been involved in various soul , pop music and free jazz projects since 2001 . He composes himself under his stage name LoZee . He accompanies the band Glashaus am Cello on various albums and goes on tour with them.

In 2005 Die Toten Hosen hired him as a guest musician for concerts in the Vienna Burgtheater , published on the album Nur zu Visiting and the music film of the same name. In 2007 he played the grandfather in a modern production of Peter and the Wolf , in which the instruments were newly cast. The grandfather is played by a cello and Peter's motive by an electric guitar.

Since 2008 he has been accompanying Die Toten Hosen again on the current tour and a. at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park , as well as on the album In aller Stille , released in November 2008 .

Under his stage name LoZee, he released his first solo album Tell it to the Sea in 2010 .
