Givens' stock photo images are used in promotional campaigns in many different countries. Getting attention on the many uses of the unknown model drew the short-lived WordPress -Blog Overexposed Big Mouth Model ( Overexposed model with big mouth), which was later replaced by other blogs with a similar name. In 2013 Mike Aquino published an article in the Filipino edition of Esquire about Givens, which he noticed on many billboards in Singapore . He reached out to her for an interview through her Shutterstock profile. Since Givens wanted to remain anonymous at this point, she only gave her middle name and some information about her origin. She gave up this anonymity in 2015 when she gave an interview to model Sarah Woodstock on her blog, in which she announced further details, including her full name, and promoted her blog. Givens has been referred to as "the most famous model in the world you've never heard of" and "the Mona Lisa of the Internet age".

For Givens, the reasons for their numerous use in advertising are, among other things, the origin of their parents, who make their appearance "racially ambigous" (for example, "of ambiguous origin"). This reason is also mentioned in the article by Mike Aquino.
